Working Notes

Six entries about measurement rather than equipment, because most bad fitting decisions trace back to reading a number the wrong way rather than to choosing the wrong club.

Why These Topics

Measurement Beats Equipment

We could write about the newest driver head every quarter, and plenty of people do it better than we would. The questions that actually come up in our bays are duller and more useful: why do these two numbers disagree, why did my carry change since spring, how many balls do I need to hit before this comparison means anything.

Every entry here came out of a conversation with a golfer standing in a bay looking confused at a screen.

If there is a measurement question you have never had answered properly, send it over. We will either answer it by email or, if it is a good one, test it on a closed afternoon and write it up.

Everything above is more convincing when the data on the screen belongs to you.
